I’m Mike Dunn, a photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. I bought my first camera in college, initially just looking for a way to capture what was happening around me. That curiosity grew into a career—and a way of seeing. Since becoming a full-time freelance photographer in 2016, I’ve continued to explore how a photograph can tell a story, create a feeling, and give people something to connect with.

Music, fashion, sports, and popular culture shape how I see the world. They influence the energy of my work, the details I notice, and the stories I’m drawn to. Whether I’m photographing a person, a product, or a campaign, I pay close attention to color, light, and composition. I want the image to catch your eye and give you a reason to stay with it.

Conversation is a big part of my process. I ask questions, listen, and get to know the people behind the project. What matters to them? What are they trying to say? How do they want someone to feel? That understanding helps us build a direction together and gives the photographs a purpose beyond looking good.

At the heart of my work is connection: between a person and their story, a brand and its audience, or an idea and the people who help bring it to life. I bring my perspective, preparation, and curiosity to every shoot, while leaving room for the unexpected. Some of my favorite images come from what we discover together.
